New Identity and Access Management Video Series by Unicon Now Available: "Deploying the TIER Grouper Image"

Four-Part Video Series on the Internet2® TIER Grouper Docker Image

Gilbert, AZ – June 12, 2018— Unicon, Inc., a leading technology consulting, services, and support provider for the education industry, today announced the publication of a four-part identity and access management (IAM) video series, "Deploying the TIER Grouper Image ." The series features Unicon's John Gasper, IAM Architect, as he walks viewers through setting up a simple Docker Swarm environment to host Grouper Services based on the TIER Grouper Docker image.

GrouperViewers will learn how to use the TIER Grouper Docker image to build an organization-base image that contains files common to all of the Grouper components; build customized images and create Docker Swarm services for the Grouper daemon, Grouper user interface (UI), and Grouper web services (WS); and explore additional topics that may be of interest when deploying the TIER Grouper Docker image.

Trust and Identity in Education and Research (TIER) is a community-driven effort, coordinated by Internet2, to develop a consistent approach to identity and access management for education and research. TIER provides an effective federated identity, attribute, and authorization management platform, integrating such services as the InCommon Federation, Shibboleth Single Sign-On and Federating Software, Grouper enterprise access management software, COmanage (collaborative organization management software and person registry), and other IAM solutions.

Grouper encourages coordinated collaboration and allows for efficient management of group membership from a single point of control. Unicon works with existing TIER institutions, along with institutions that are new to TIER, by providing services and support for Grouper. Capabilities include assessment, software engineering, systems integration, implementation, and technical support.

The TIER Grouper Docker Image can be found at https://hub.docker.com/r/tier/grouper/ . Source code for the example project is located at https://github.com/Unicon/tier-grouper-deployment . To learn more about
