This is the privacy policy for Unicon, Inc. (“Unicon”, “we”, “us”, “our”, or “ourselves”). This policy describes how we treat the information we collect from visitors to our website and users of our service (“you”, “your”). Unicon respects your privacy. Below is an outline of the information that Unicon gathers, how it’s used, how you may “opt-in,” and how you can then "opt-out" as you wish.

Site Visits
Whenever you request a page through your browser, navigation and clickstream data is collected, including:

This data is stored in a log file and/or database. Any search terms that you enter into the Unicon Site Search are also logged. This information cannot be used to identify specific individuals, and is only used for:

Access to Secured Areas
Some sections of this site are restricted and accessible to authorized users only. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any user name and password that is assigned to you by Unicon. You will not misuse or share the password that is assigned to you or you may be subject to legal action and/or prosecution under applicable computer fraud and abuse laws.
 
Personal Information
In general, you can visit Unicon on the Internet without telling us who you are and without giving any personal information about yourself.

You may choose to give us personal information in a variety of situations. For example, you may want to give us information such as your name, address, and/or email in order for us to correspond with you, to sign you up for a product demonstration, or to provide you with a subscription. We intend to let you know how we will use such information before we collect it from you; if you tell us that you do not want us to use this information to make further contact with you beyond fulfilling your requests, we will respect your wishes. If you give us personal information about somebody else, such as a spouse or work colleague, you are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to do so.

The email addresses collected from subscriptions to Unicon newsletters are not sold, or disclosed to any third parties. These email addresses will only be used by our business for the stated purposes to which you have subscribed. You will only receive mailings that you have directly requested or that you have requested through an opt-in list. The email addresses collected by Unicon are stored on a secure server. You can remove yourself from our list at any time by contacting us with your unsubscribe request, or by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any Unicon newsletter.

When a contest / sweepstakes / survey is conducted on this site, you may be asked to supply some personally identifying information like your name, email address, and/or phone number. This information will only be used to notify winners of the contest / sweepstakes. Non-identifying information may be analyzed, aggregated, and presented to third parties to provide an overview of the demographics of our website's visitors

When a survey appears on the Unicon site, information is collected, compiled, and analyzed on an aggregated basis. Unicon may share this aggregated data with business partners.

Fulfilling Your Request
If you request information from our website, for example, a demonstration, additional information on a product or service, a callback, or specific marketing materials, we will use the information you provide to fulfill your request. To help us do this, we may share information with others, for instance, other parts of our organization, our partners, financial institutions, shipping companies, or postal authorities required to fulfill your request. In connection with a request we may also contact you as part of our customer satisfaction surveys or for market research purposes. Third-party tools that we may share your information with include Constant Contact®, SugarCRM, HubSpot, and Survey Monkey®.

If you purchase services directly from Unicon, your contact information and a transaction history will be kept by Unicon. We may use the contact information to inform you about the status of your order, as well as to let you know about upcoming Unicon services.

Data Privacy Framework

Unicon has previously complied with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework, and has now self-certified to the Data Privacy Framework recently adopted by the European Union. Additionally, Unicon has certified to the UK extension of the DPF in anticipation of UK approval. This guarantees you the right to:

  • Know what we collect
  • Know how we use it
  • Know what is currently contained in your data that we have
  • Correct any information you feel is inaccurate
  •  Have your data permanently removed from our systems
  •  Pursue a free complaint with our independent dispute resolution mechanism

In certain situations, we may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

Unicon, Inc. complies with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (EU-U.S. DPF) and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Unicon, Inc. has certified to the U.S. Department of Commerce that it adheres to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework Principles (EU-U.S. DPF Principles) with regard to the processing of personal data received from the European Union in reliance on the EU-U.S. DPF and from the United Kingdom (and Gibraltar) in reliance on the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF.  If there is any conflict between the terms in this privacy policy and the EU-U.S. DPF Principles, the Principles shall govern.  To learn more about the Data Privacy Framework (DPF) program, and to view our certification, please visit https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/

Pursuant to the DPF Frameworks, EU and UK individuals have the right to obtain our confirmation of whether we maintain personal information relating to you in the United States. Upon request, we will provide you with access to the personal information that we hold about you. You may also correct, amend, or delete the personal information we hold about you. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data transferred to the United States under the DPF, should direct their query through our contact form https://www.unicon.net/contact-us with the Subject: Data Privacy Framework. If requested to remove data, we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

If your complaint involves human resources data transferred to the United States from the European Union, [the United Kingdom, or Switzerland]
in the context of the employment relationship, and Unicon, Inc. does not address it satisfactorily, Unicon, Inc. commits to cooperate with the panel established by the EU data protection authorities (DPA Panel), [the UK Information Commissioner’s Office, and the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, as applicable] and to comply with the advice given by the DPA panel [ICO, or FDPIC, as applicable] with regard
to such human resources data. To pursue an unresolved human resources complaint, you should contact the state or national data protection or labor authority in the appropriate jurisdiction. Complaints related to human resources data should not be addressed to the BBB NATIONAL PROGRAMS.

We will provide an individual opt-out choice, or opt-in for sensitive data, before we share your data with third parties other than our agents, or before we use it for a purpose other than which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized. In certain situations, we may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

Unicon’s accountability for personal data that it receives in the United States under the DPF and subsequently transfers to a third party is described in the DPF Principles. In particular, Unicon remains responsible and liable under the DPF Principles if third-party agents that it engages to process personal data on its behalf do so in a manner inconsistent with the Principles, unless Unicon proves that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.

In compliance with the DPF Principles, Unicon commits to resolve complaints about our collection or use of your personal information. European Union or UK individuals with DPF inquiries or complaints should first contact The Unicon Privacy Program:

Unicon has further committed to refer unresolved privacy complaints under the Data Privacy Framework Principles to a U.S.-based independent dispute resolution mechanism, BBB NATIONAL PROGRAMS. If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your complaint, or if your complaint is not satisfactorily addressed, please visit www.bbbprograms.org/dpf-complaints for more information and to file a complaint. If your DPF complaint cannot be resolved through the above channels, under certain conditions, you may invoke binding arbitration for some residual claims not resolved by other redress mechanisms. The Federal Trade Commission has jurisdiction over Unicon’s compliance with the DPF.
