Site Visits

Whenever you request a page through your browser, navigation and clickstream data is collected, including:

• IP address

• Browser and version

• Operating system

• Date and time

• The site from which you came

This data is stored in a log file and/or database. Any search terms that you enter into the Unicon Site Search are also logged. Unicon does not use this information to identify individuals. It is only used for:

• Website and system administration

• Research and development

• Anonymous user analysis

We use reasonable and appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, taking into account the nature of the information and the risks involved in processing it.

Access to Secured Areas

Some sections of this site are restricted and accessible to authorized users only. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any user name and password that is assigned to you by Unicon. You must misuse or share the password that is assigned to you or you may be subject to prosecution.

Personal Information

In general, you can visit Unicon on the Internet without telling us who you are and without giving any personal information about yourself.

You may choose to give us personal information in a variety of situations. For example, you may want to give us information such as your name, address, and/or email in order for us to correspond with you, to sign you up for a product demonstration, or to provide you with a subscription. We intend to let you know how we will use such information before we collect it from you; if you tell us that you do not want us to use this information to make further contact with you beyond fulfilling your requests, we will respect your wishes. If you give us personal information about somebody else, such as a spouse or work colleague, you are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to do so.

Cookies are a technology that can be used to provide you with a tailored experience from a website. A cookie is an element of data that a website can send to your browser, which your browser may then store on your system. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie. Doing this will allow you to decide on a case-by-case basis whether to accept cookies.

Cookies are used for:

• Ad tracking

• Customization of content (e.g. not repeating pop-up windows)

• Storing login information

• Statistical site-traffic analysis

Any data collected (including cookies) will be used by ourselves, our ad management system, and our agents. Unicon hereby reserves the right to transfer any data collected in the event of an acquisition, full or partial, of the company or its assets.

Email and Marketing Communications 

 Unicon may send business and marketing communications to current or prospective clients, customers, partners, event participants, and other professional contacts. These communications may include newsletters and content subscriptions, surveys and market/industry research, events, webinars, and conference marketing, information about Unicon services, and other marketing and promotional communications. Recipients may receive these communications even if they did not specifically request a particular message, where permitted by applicable law.

Marketing messages will:

• Accurately identify Unicon as the sender;

• Include valid contact information;

• Provide a clear and accessible method to unsubscribe or object to further marketing; and

• Be sent and managed in accordance with applicable privacy and electronic-marketing requirements.

Recipients may unsubscribe or object to further marketing or promotional communications at any time by using the unsubscribe or preference-management mechanism included in applicable messages, by responding to the sender, or by contacting Unicon will honor valid opt-out requests and maintain appropriate suppression records to help prevent further marketing messages from being sent to individuals who have opted out. Opting out of marketing communications will not prevent Unicon from sending service-related, transactional, security, legal, or other non-promotional communications when necessary.

Unicon may use approved service providers to support email delivery, contact management, surveys, webinars, and marketing activities. Those providers process personal information on Unicon’s behalf and are subject to applicable contractual, privacy, and security requirements.

Individuals covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, or the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework may exercise applicable rights regarding the use and disclosure of their personal information, including relevant choice and objection rights, as described in the Data Privacy Framework section of this policy.

Student Privacy Pledge

Unicon has signed the Student Privacy Pledge, a pledge in which signatories agree to "safeguard student privacy regarding the collection, maintenance, and use of student personal information."  The Student Privacy Pledge was retired by the Future of Privacy Forum on July 31, 2025.  Unicon remains legally bound by Pledge commitments with regard to data collected during the period Unicon was a signatory.  View the current Student Privacy Pledge information here.

Fulfilling Your Request

If you request information from our website, for example, a demonstration, additional information on a product or service, a callback, or specific marketing materials, we will use the information you provide to fulfill your request. To help us do this, we may share information with others, for instance, other parts of our organization, our partners, shipping companies, or postal authorities required to fulfill your request. In connection with a request, we may also contact you as part of our customer satisfaction surveys or for market research purposes. Third-party tools that we may share your information with include CRM providers, website hosting providers, survey providers, payment processors, and fulfillment partners.  Where we transfer personal information received under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) to third-party agents, we require those agents to process the information only for limited and specified purposes and to provide at least the same level of privacy protection required by the DPF Principles.

If you purchase services directly from Unicon, your contact information and a transaction history will be kept by Unicon. We may use the contact information to inform you about the status of your order, as well as to let you know about upcoming Unicon services, and solicit your commentary on services already provided. 

Data Privacy Framework

Unicon, Inc. complies with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (EU-U.S. DPF), the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Swiss-U.S. DPF), as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Unicon, Inc. has certified to the U.S. Department of Commerce that it adheres to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework Principles (EU-U.S. DPF Principles) with regard to the processing of personal data received from the European Union in reliance on the EU-U.S. DPF, from the United Kingdom (and Gibraltar) in reliance on the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and from Switzerland in reliance on the Swiss-U.S. DPF. This provides you with the right to:

• Know what we collect

• Know how we use it

• Know what personal information we currently hold about you

• Correct any information you feel is inaccurate

• Have your data permanently removed from our systems

• Submit a complaint at no cost through our independent dispute resolution mechanism

Pursuant to the DPF Frameworks, if you are an individual in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the right to obtain confirmation of whether we maintain personal information relating to you in the United States. Upon request, we will provide you with access to the personal information that we hold about you. You may also correct, amend, or delete the personal information we hold about you. These rights may be limited where permitted by the DPF Principles or applicable law. Unicon will investigate and respond to DPF-related complaints within 45 days of receipt.

We will provide individuals with an opportunity to opt out before we disclose personal information to a third party other than an agent, or before we use personal information for a purpose materially different from the purpose for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized. For sensitive personal information, we will obtain opt-in consent where required by the DPF Principles. Sensitive personal information may include information revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, health information, sexual orientation, precise geolocation where applicable, or similar categories depending on Unicon’s actual processing activities. 

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, contract, dispute resolution, security, audit, or legitimate business needs. We take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is reliable for its intended use, accurate, complete, and current.

In certain situations, we may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

Unicon’s accountability for personal data that it receives in the United States under the DPF and subsequently transfers to a third party is described in the DPF Principles. In particular, Unicon remains responsible and liable under the DPF Principles if third-party agents that it engages to process personal data on its behalf do so in a manner inconsistent with the Principles, unless Unicon proves that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices, technologies, legal requirements, or regulatory obligations. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective Date" shown below.

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy or to how we process your personal information, we will provide additional notice where required by applicable law. Such notice may include a prominent notice on our website, direct communication where appropriate, or other methods permitted by applicable law.
