STRATEGIC CONSULTING PROGRAMS
Structured programs for complex, multi-phase tech challenges
Unicon's consulting programs address the full scale of a problem, from current-state assessment through implementation and into sustained operation.
Why clients succeed with our programs
-
Unicon’s programs are designed for challenges that cannot be solved in a single workshop or a narrow implementation sprint. Each program creates a path from assessment and planning through execution and ongoing operation, so teams are not left with a strategy deck and no way to carry it forward.
-
Our programs are shaped by deep experience across K-12, higher education, and workforce environments. That means the work reflects the systems, stakeholders, and constraints our clients are already dealing with, not a generic consulting model applied after the fact.
-
Many organizations come to Unicon with issues that cut across data, applications, infrastructure, governance, and long-term support. Our programs are built to handle that complexity in a coordinated way, with defined modules, milestones, and outcomes that keep the work moving.
-
The goal is not just to complete a project. It is to help clients put a stronger operating model, a clearer technical foundation, and a more sustainable path in place so the work can continue after the initial engagement ends.

AI Enablement for Education
AI interest is high across education, but most organizations are still stuck in pilots, demos, and internal experiments. Teams struggle to decide what to build first, how to handle data access, and how to answer the governance questions that surface as soon as AI moves beyond a prototype.
The real challenge is moving from ideas to something that runs inside a real workflow. That means selecting the right use case, working through data readiness, and putting controls in place for privacy, access, and oversight. Without that structure, AI efforts either stall or create problems that are harder to fix later.
Unicon works with organizations to move from early exploration to deployed capabilities. That includes use-case selection, data and architecture planning, and delivering a working system with governance, auditability, and an operating model in place from the start.
Public Good Enablement
Foundations, nonprofits, and consortia fund platforms and programs intended to serve broad communities. Many of these initiatives launch successfully but struggle to sustain momentum once they move into real-world operation across multiple partners.
The difficulty is not the idea or the funding. It is the operational model. Governance, ownership, data consistency, and long-term support all need to be defined early. Without that, adoption slows and impact becomes difficult to measure or maintain.
Unicon works with funders and operators to design, build, and sustain these initiatives. That includes delivery planning aligned to funding milestones, shared data and reporting structures, and systems built for long-term operation rather than short-term launch.
Education-to-Workforce Infrastructure
Across healthcare, manufacturing, and other industries, employers are working with education providers to build pathways into high-demand roles. Programs exist, partnerships are forming, and funding is in place. The difficulty is connecting those efforts into a system that can scale across institutions and regions.
Training, credentials, and hiring all live in different systems. Each partner brings its own tools, data, and definitions. Without a shared structure, it becomes difficult to track progress, measure outcomes, or expand beyond a single program.
Unicon connects these systems so data can move across the full pathway. That includes aligning skills to job requirements, integrating education and employer systems, and building the infrastructure needed to track learners from training through employment.
Product and Application Development
Education platforms often need to do more than deliver content. They need to integrate with identity systems, move data across environments, and support workflows that span institutions, partners, and users.
Many teams run into friction when those requirements show up late. Integrations become one-off work, identity does not align with institutional systems, and reporting raises more questions than it answers.
Unicon designs and builds applications with those requirements in scope from the beginning. Identity, integration, data, and governance are built into the architecture so the product can operate across real environments without constant rework.
Technology Modernization
Many organizations are still operating on legacy systems that are difficult to maintain, expensive to support, and hard to extend. Modernization efforts often start with good intent but stall when dependencies, integrations, and operational risks become clear.
Replacing or upgrading these systems requires more than a technical decision. It involves understanding how systems connect, what can be phased, and how to maintain continuity while changes are made.
Unicon provides a structured path from legacy environments to modern infrastructure. That includes assessment, planning, and phased implementation so systems can be updated without disrupting the operations that depend on them.
A technology partner for 30+ years
Unicon has spent more than 30 years helping universities, colleges, school systems, and education organizations design, build, and run technology that supports learning, identity, data, and workforce outcomes.
Today, that work is delivered through structured consulting programs that move from assessment to implementation to ongoing operation. Each program is designed to address complex, multi-phase challenges across education and workforce systems.
Organizations come to Unicon to:
Modernize legacy systems and infrastructure
Integrate identity, data, and learning platforms
Build custom applications and shared platforms
Strengthen security, governance, and privacy
Connect education systems to workforce outcomes
Move AI initiatives from planning into production
Unicon’s work spans K-12, higher education, edtech, nonprofits, and workforce initiatives.
