Gilbert, AZ – December 12, 2012— Unicon, Inc., a leading IT consulting services provider specializing in open source for the education market, today announced that it will be hosting three training classes following the Jasig-Sakai Unconference, January 16-18, 2013. The classes will provide training for the open source uPortal platform, Central Authentication Service (CAS)/ Shibboleth, and Grouper, and are designed for IT developers. Classes will be located at the Unicon headquarters in Gilbert, Arizona, about 15 minutes away from the unconference location at the Arizona State University / Polytechnic campus in Mesa, Arizona. The timing and location of these classes gives unconference attendees an opportunity to leverage their travel expenses.
The classes will be held on the following dates:
- uPortal Platform Training: Wednesday, January 16 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.; Thursday, January 17 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Friday, January 18 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- CAS/ Shibboleth Training: Thursday, January 17, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Grouper Training: Thursday, January 17, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Each class will cover a variety of topics. The uPortal class will discuss a platform overview, including installation, authentication, and an uPortal demo. The CAS/ Shibboleth class will cover how the two technologies work together to provide a robust, open, and standards based approach to achieving WebSSO across the enterprise as well as access to federations and cloud-based services. The Grouper class will focus on Enterprise Access Management strategies, including basic concepts and approaches and builds toward specific deployment scenarios and use cases.
