Gilbert, AZ – October 15, 2013— Unicon, Inc., a leading IT consulting, services, and support provider specializing in open source for the education technology market, today announced the availability of Test Drive Student Success Plan (SSP). SSP includes case management software that supports a holistic coaching and counseling model for improving retention, academic performance, persistence, time to degree, and graduation rates. Test Drive uses SSP 2.0, the latest release of the software, which features My Academic Plan (MAP), an academic advising tool. Test Drive provides a practice environment that encourages users to test features while gaining hands-on experience.
“Test Drive SSP plays an important role for institutions considering implementing student success case management software,” said Russ Little, SSP Project Director. “Giving institutions the chance to evaluate the SSP toolset proves invaluable in their decision-making process.”
Test Drive allows users to explore the software from the point of view of a coach, counselor, advisor, or student. As a coach, counselor, or advisor, users have access to a set of case management tools including a main dashboard for viewing student information from the SIS, and the ability to respond to Early Alerts initiated by faculty alerting on students considered at risk. Other tools for coaches, counselors, and advisors include Action Plan, Journal, and MAP. Coach, counselors, and advisors can create and review MAPs. As a student, users will have access to MyGPS. With MyGPS, students can work through a set of questions on their own that will then facilitate a meaningful conversation with the student’s coach, counselor, or advisor around their strengths, challenges, and academic goals. Students can manage their action items and view their MAP through MyGPS.
Unicon provides services and support for SSP 2.0. Services include: pre-implementation assessment, deployment (installation and technical configuration), systems integration (SIS, LMS, other), custom development, training, and hosting. Support is available through Unicon’s Open Source Support program.
Test Drive SSP will be available to see at EDUCAUSE 2013, in Unicon’s booth, #322. For more information and to sign up for a Test Drive account, visit: http://www.unicon.net/ssp_project.
