How will the new Daylight Savings changes impact Academus?
The new Daylight Savings rules were addressed in Sun JDK\JRE versions 1.4.2_11 or 1.3.1_18. Academus 2.0 ships with JDK\JRE version 1.4.2_05. Users of Academus 2.0 must update their JDK to a 1.4.2_11 or later version or apply the Sun Java TZUpdater Tool. Users of previous Academus versions such as 1.3 or 1.5 will almost certainly also be affected by this issue and will likewise need to either upgrade to a more recent Java Runtime Environment or apply the timezeone updater tool.

Customers choosing to upgrade their Java environments currently running a JDK 1.4 version (rather than a JDK 1.5 version) are encouraged to use the latest JDK 1.4 rather than making the jump to JDK 1.5. While JDK 1.5 offers a number of advantages, its APIs are sufficiently different from JDK 1.4 that it can introduce problems. Customers desiring to run in a JDK 1.5 environment are encouraged to upgrade to Academus 2.1 which ships with and requires JDK 1.5.

Academus 2.1's more recent Java environment is not affected by the Daylight Savings Time changes. No additional upgrade or workaround is required in Academus 2.1 to address this issue.
