How do I set up new channel/portlet Categories in Academus?
Categories are created via the groups manager channel. To add a new category in which channels and portlets are grouped for subscription purposes, perform the following steps:
- As an administrator, locate the Groups Manager Channel.
- Select the All Categories group from the hierarchy.
- Click the unlock link for the All Categories group to begin editing.
- Enter the name of the new category.
- Click the Create New Member Group option.
- Click on the new group name in the sub-group list under All Categories
- Click the unlock link for the New Category group to begin editing.
- Click the Assign Permissions button.
- Select the Portal Administrators and Channel Manager groups within the Assign Permissions step.
- Set the View and Select permissions for Portal Administrators and Channel Managers to GRANT in order to make sure the new category group is viewable in the Channel Manager when publishing a new channel.
