What functionality is provided within the Academus gradebook?
The Gradebook channel within the Academus $cm is dynamically linked to the class roster. As students are enrolled in that class, they are automatically displayed in the Gradebook.
Instructors can use Gradebook as a digital drop box for student assignments. The instructor can activate an assignment, upload any files for the assignment or associate a URL, specify the start/end dates and times, the number of submission attempts a student is allowed, and the students to whom the assignment applies. Students can access their view of the Gradebook to download assignment files and upload completed assignments. The instructor also has the option to upload a feedback file for the student or enter feedback comments for the assignment which are viewable by the individual students.
Other basic Gradebook features include the ability to:
- Add/Delete/Edit Assignments
- Weight Assignments
- Record Scores
- View Mean and Median results
- Make feedback visible to students on a per assignment basis
- Control Gradebook privileges to allow/restrict TAs from performing various Gradebook operations
- Export the Gradebook to a file for import into a spreadsheet or other application
Like Assignments, Dynamic Assessments can activated via the Gradebook for those installations integrated with a third party assessment tool, such as CLI VirtuosoTM. Once a student completes a dynamic assessment, the results are posted directly to the Gradebook and the instructor has the option of viewing the exam details for each student.
