Elluminate and Unicon Contribute Sakai/Elluminate Tool to the Sakai Community

Phoenix, AZ - April 23, 2008 - Unicon, Inc., the leading provider of open source enterprise portals, applications, and top end technology consulting for higher education, today announced the immediate availability of a software tool to integrate Elluminate Live! with the Sakai Collaboration and Learning Environment.  The integration tool, co-developed by Unicon, Inc. and Elluminate, Inc., is designed to enable academic institutions using the Sakai Collaboration and Learning Environment to easily and seamlessly integrate live, synchronous distance learning and collaboration into their coursework.  The companies have contributed the Sakai/Elluminate integration tool to the Sakai open source community.  The source code is available at: https://source.sakaiproject.org/contrib/unicon/elluminate/.

  • Enables Sakai Instructors to create, edit, and delete Elluminate sessions from within Sakai
  • Elluminate sessions can be scheduled for a day, week, or month, with re-occurrence as needed
  • Allows students to see and access Elluminate session details from within their Sakai calendar
