Opportunity to learn about CAS and Shibboleth
I've been seeing a lot of interest in CAS and Shibboleth lately, as well as more general interest in exploring single sign on platform and identity management options. I'm posting today to point out what may be obvious: that the upcoming JASIG 2009 conference in Dallas, TX is a wonderful opportunity to meet with and learn from several people experienced with CAS, Shibboleth, and other technologies related to IdM.
Among the opportunities at this conference:
- Tom Barton of the University of Chicago will be giving a presentation on Grouper
- Scott Battaglia, lead developer on the CAS project, will be giving a session on the in-progress CAS 4 development project
- Scott Battaglia will also be giving a session specifically on CAS 4 and federation
- Scott Cantor will be giving a half-day seminar on implementing Shibboleth 2
- Unicon's own Adam Rybicki will be giving a half-day seminar on implementing CAS
- Adam Rybicki will also be giving a session on high-availability CAS
- Ben Oshrin will be giving a session on implementation of levels of assurance in electronic identity
- Ben Oshrin will also be giving a session on OpenRegistry, a new open source identity management system. I am particularly excited about this session.
- After that, Ben Oshrin will be leading a session on / meeting of the JASIG IdM SIG
- I'll be leading a session on Shibbolization of uPortal and plans to develop uPortal support for delegated authentication via Shibboleth
